This report is to describe the usage of three harbour tunnels in Hong Kong. Table 1 shows average number of vehicles using tunnels from Monday to Friday while Table 2 shows the number for holidays and weekends.
As shown by table 1, more private cars use the central tunnel than the other vehicles. By contrast, buses are the lowest user of the tunnel with only on average 1440 per hour. The western tunnel has the least number of taxis with only 90 per hour using it from Monday to Friday.
One interesting point is that on average only 100 taxis and good vehicles use the western tunnel on holidays and weekends.
